• How do I locate a good book printer?
The number of book printers in the United States is relatively small. Many printers handle books and catalogs, but the truth is, book printing is just a small portion of what they do. Books and catalogs are all we handle. It pays to go with the experts!

Our options in making your book stand out are virtually unlimited with leather binding, gold embossing, metallic colors, fly leaf with special effects and so much more.
• What are your standard turn-around times?
If you want your book printed overnight, we're probably not the printer for you. We're more than book printers; we're craftsman. Our goal is to provide results that exceed your expectations. Normally, it will take about one week to create blueprints from the time we receive PDF files or camera-ready text from you. Our standard turnaround time is 20 days from final blueprint approval, although if necessary, we can work with you to get your project into your hands faster.
• What kind of choices do I have in covers and binding?
Our wide variety of quality matte and gloss enamel sheets, white and natural offset text stocks are complemented by binding options from case binding to saddle stitch, paperback and so much more. If you want it, chances are, we can do it!
• What are your most cost-effective trim sizes?
Based on your book layout, we can suggest a cost-effective trim size. Standard trim sizes are: 4" x 7" 5" x 8" 6" x 9" 7" x 10" 8" x 11". It is highly recommended that you consult us before choosing a trim size. To get an idea of various trim sizes, log on to our Printing Projects Planner.
• Do you print 4 or 6 color?
We routinely print black-and-white, four-color process, and any additional PMS colors. Upon request, we can print in excess of six colors.
• How do I need to submit my book or catalog to you?
We work with your computer files on disks or e-mail attachments; registered customers can upload files to our FTP server. The PDF file is the most preferable one to work with. But we're fully capable of working with your file type - QuarkXpress© or inDesign©. For some projects, we can also work with PageMaker©, Illustrator©, Word© and PowerPoint©. And, of course, we can still work with traditional camera ready line copy.
• What kind of quantities do you handle?
The Book Printer is a short-to-medium run book manufacturer. We print quantities of 500 to 5,000 and more. Quantities of 10,000 to 100,000 are given special attention through our large runs department. Please {link: e-mail} for more details.
